Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly canceled a last-minute party earlier this month after media reports about them enraged them. The couple was thought to be planning a party with friends to mark the 4th of July. Gazebos already set up in the yard of their Montecito home had to be removed when Meghan “told the planners to call it off.”

According to a source, Meghan and Harry were angry over media rumors that their business deal with Netflix was in jeopardy. “They had a big party planned at their house, which they canceled just three days ago,” the source told New magazine, adding that the couple had “no choice but to cancel.”
Is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal in jeopardy?
These rumors about Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal surfaced after it was recently reported that Meghan’s Spotify podcast will not be renewed for a second season. Insiders close to Spotify have claimed that the royal couple failed to meet the productivity benchmark needed to receive the full payout, according to the Wall Street Journal. However, Meghan is reportedly planning to make more podcasts.
After the end of the first season, Spotify reportedly planned to release a second season. Sources close to Meghan and Harry have claimed the couple would stop making Netflix documentaries, publishing memoirs and appearing for interviews that don’t speak well of the royal family.
Following Spotify’s disapproval, Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetization at streaming giant Bill Simmons publicly labeled Harry and Meghan as “f***ing grifters.” A source at Netflix also suggested that a large sum could be withheld from the couple unless they started pitching better ideas.
“Netflix was delighted to sign Harry and Meghan and is looking for great ideas for the future,” a source told The Sun. “But the rest of the deal depends on them coming up with those good ideas. The deal is constantly being reviewed, which is normal for a business of this size.” A spokesperson for the couple has reportedly refuted claims that the Netflix deal could end.
