Ashutosh Gowariker is known for directing films like Lagaan (2001), Swades (2004) and Jodhaa Akbar (2008), and acted in Circus (1989), Chamatkar (1992) and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1993), the critically acclaimed critically acclaimed Marathi comedy-drama Ventilator (2016), returned to acting after a long hiatus with Kaala Paani.
